Antique, with mark of 1825, Poppelsdorf on pair of handpainted porcelain plates, with swirling flute impressions and corresponding foliate rims. Both in matching ivory ground, with slight variations of the same lovely handpainted floral designs in shades of fuschia and yellow ochre, with touches of aqua and lime green. Lovely, small porcelain sculpture, bust, of Josephine Bonaparte, first wife of Napoleon, and Empress of the French. The mark on the reverse of this piece -- the gold anchor of Chelsea -- coupled with the gold, porcelain origin mark of "Germany," on the base, indicates to us that this 18th Century Chelsea mark of England, is forged, or "borrowed," as was often the case in the 19th century.
