Great old cottage sized fireplace Tool Stand, or small fender, displaying classic features of a center Mask, Corner Rams Heads, Dolphin-shaped Feet, and two swan sentries on either side of the mask; made in Hernals, a district of Vienna, Austria. Giltwood frame with deeply impressed disk-shaped decoration, as well as side carvings. Floral decoration center-top. Outside measurements are 9.125" x 13.25" x .50" (23.17 x 33.65 x 1.27 cm) deep; inside is 8.5" x 11.25" (21.59 x 28.57 cm). Condition is good, although corners need stabilizing, as well as the need for minor gesso restoration of the corners. c. 1880-1920. $12 US Shipping.
