Pair of Handpainted Decorative French Floral Panels on fabric canvas, originally part of a folding screen. Beautifully painted matching panels are stretched over wood and finished with tacked edging canvas. We believe this small Box is constructed from Bamboo, with dark red lacquered finish. Note the superb craftsmanship of the box, the pleasing, natural shape; tiny incised grooves around the lid top, and around the edge of the top rim. While we do not guarantee this piece is older than 1900, we believe it may be very early 19th Century, and possibly even earlier. One of our favorite items on Barclay Galleries.
