Early 20th Century Florence, Italy, Pietra dura (inlay of hardstones) with a ground of black slate, an exquisite bird made of lapis lazuli, malachite, quartz, granite, and others. Light wood box is covered in mottled green leather, embossed with gold, brass hinge. Four small British Royal Crowns in the form of uniform decorations, of either Military Attendants, or Palace Attendants to the Sovereigns. The larger crown is the Imperial Crown of State, and the smaller is St. Edward's Crown. Both have a colorful history, related in part, below. Exquisite 19th Century Faceted, Ormolu, Gold-plated Metal, Jeweled Scent Bottle, Made in Austria (see label) of Austrian Amethyst crystal, and Austrian crystal jewels.
