Seafoam green art glass Casket, puffed swirls of matte, iridescent glass, decorated in thick, two-tone handpainted gilding, which is outlined in raised, white enamel. Three floral buds encircle the piece, while a large flower and ribbons adorn the lid. Brass fittings. The center of the large flower on the lid is silver, petals and ribbons are brilliant and mat gold. Opaque white, French Opaline, hinged Casket with ornate gold-plated metal mounts, and nice working clasp. In some lighting, the opaline has a lovely, very slight green cast. Most of the gilding has worn away; one small chip on back left corner, two encased inclusions -- very tiny, pinpoint black front lower left, and small white inclusion above back mount (pictured). Normal wear to base. 5.25" x 3.50" x 3" tall (13.33 x 8.89 x 7.62 cm). c. 1910-1925. $16 US Shipping.
