Expertly crafted bulbous Zanfirico, wide-mouth Vase, done in intricate, overlapping latticino and zanfirico patterns, in white and blue canes. The pecision of the graduated canes, as well as the matching swans, exhibits the skillful hand of a seasoned master and his helpers. For this reason, we suggest the piece may have been created at the Barovier furances, for Salviati, in the years following the transfer of ownership of the factory from Antonio Salviati to the Baroviers. Rare, miniature "Agate" vase with gold-chunk inclusions, 19th Century Venetian-Murano art glass, possibly by Francesco Ferro & Figlio, although we have also known Salviati to have made similar pieces. Swirling ribs of pale amber glass, over "agate" mixture of varying shades of red, blue, yellow, and an interior layer of thin, translucent, slightly opalescent lattimo; applied button foot. 2.50" high x 1.75" diameter at rim.
