Fine oil painting, portrait of a beautiful young woman, in a handmade, hand-gilt frame. Some minor craquelure is noted, as well as one tiny flake beneath her chin, and what appears to have been a one-time crease across the lower portion. We believe this portrait has been cut from and rescued from a larger painting which was probably damaged. Extremely rare late 19th Century wood Marquetry panel by furniture mosaic artist, Johann-Adelhard (1850-1927), Nuremberg, Germany. The panel contains over 10,000 tiny pieces of differing, natural woods, hand-cut and hand-set to form a picturesque scene of Old Nuremberg called "Hangman's Bridge," or "Henkersteg."
