1960 Paul Maxwell (b. 1925), American, well listed, untitled Serigraph, Artist's Proof, pencil signed and dated, lower right, "P. Maxwell, '60." Still Life composed of bottles, jug, urn, and a tazza with fruit, in deep purple and blue, superimposed by the geometric patterns for which the artist has become best known. Image is 11.5" x 18" (29.21 x 45.72 cm), matted and framed to 21" x 17" (53.34 x 43.18 cm). Excellent condition. c. 1960. $35 US Shipping.

Demars; hand-colored, small sailing vessels passing in the night; the orange of their lanterns stands out against the deep green sky and water; the eye is drawn to the yellow moon casting the ever-present "moon slick" upon the water's surface.
