Seldom available ceramic bowl by the Rubboli factory (1873-current), of Gauldo Tadino, Italy. This factory faithfully recreates Renaissance majolica pieces, especially lusterware, in very limited numbers. Their items are scarce, and their artistry is magnificent, always commanding high prices. This three-griffin figural bowl is an excellent example of that artistry. Highly glazed porcelain letter holder in ornate, Italian Rococo relief pattern, signed on base, "Gerold Porzellan, Bavaria, Made in Western Germany," and logo, mark of 1949 onward; impressed style number of "6709." 9.5" (24.13 cm) wide, 6.5" (16.51 cm) tall, 5.5" (13.97 cm) deep. Twelve elegant Dinner Plates, Mintons Porcelain in the discontinued pattern, "Eloise." 10.25" (26.03 cm) diameter, white well with wide ecru border, colorful pattern of florals with leaf and stem accents, separated by a spear-type foliate pattern against black; the entire rim being bordered by leaf and scroll, plus an encircling of rim gilding.
