Much in the style of impressionist painter, Mary Cassatt, this lovely child is painted in oils on canvas, mounted onto board. A professional cleaning would enhance the colors present in this piece, the skill of which shows the obvious hand of a master painter. The image is 12.50" x 16" (31.75 x 40.64 cm); in early 20th C. giltwood frame to 15" x 18.50" (38.10 x 47 cm). Artist and origin unknown. Normal wear to the frame, a tiny puncture in the child's lip, and a few minor surfact scratches to the right and one near the top. c. 1890-1910. $35 US Shipping.
