Substantial, Antique, solid Brass, very Ornate, Desk Scissors from Germany, with Sheath complete with original felt lining; Brass handles show Masks on either side, Birds on either side which change into Dolphins when placed horizontal, Winged Griffins on the Sheath, Shells, Acanthus Leaves, Beads and other decorative features. Markings are: "E. J. Cadigan, Solingen, Germany," and "Hammesfahr, Germany." Measurements: 12.25" (31.11 cm) length in case, 10.125" (25.71 cm) scissors length, 2.75" (6.98 cm) width, 1.75" (4.44 cm) sheath width at dragons, .75" (1.90 cm) thickness of sheath. Weight, 4 to 5 pounds (1.81 - 2.26 kg). Excellent condition, with only slight removable rust to upper part of steel scissors. c. 1885-1910. $16 US Shipping. |
