| Wonderful original oil painting of an adorable baby chick having just taken a drink of water from what appears to be the lid to a painted tin. The piece is skillfully painted in its realistic simplicity. There is another quite skillful painting on verso, a still life of potatoes. We do not know the artist of these fine paintings, as both pieces are unsigned. The frame looks to be original to the painting; both pieces are on one piece of artist's panel. Panel is 10.25" x 13.25", framed to 16" x 19". We suggest this is late 19th to early 20th Century. Condition is good, with one small area of tiny paint losses (see lid closeup). On close inspection, there is also a slight waving of the panel likely correctible by proper finishing of the back side. $35 US Shipping. | |||||||||||||
