| Pair of Handpainted Decorative French Floral Panels on fabric canvas, originally part of a folding screen. Beautifully painted matching panels are stretched over wood and finished with tacked edging canvas. Each panel is 70" (177.80 cm) tall, 18" (45.72 cm) wide, 1" (2.54 cm) deep; both panels are unsigned. Condition is quite good, although not perfect. Each panel has an unfinished edge (pictured); there is both intentional and natural craquelure; white spots are small areas of paint loss; there has been some lower moisture damage, although it does not appear to be serious, and little more than a light cleaning on the front should suffice; panel on the right has a small 3-corner tear near the lower right corner, left panel has a similar small tear in the opposing location on the lower left corner. These panels can lend themselves to any number of interesting and creative decorative uses. c. 1870-1900. $100 US Shipping. | |||||||||||||||
